Door Jam Lean

Normally in order to get out of my car I need to lean on the door jam and brace myself in order to propel my body forward. Well, this weekend I was going somewhere and doing something and when I opened the car door to get out, I did it under my own weight. I didn’t realize it until seconds later; then it just hit me….whoa, you did that by yourself. It made me smile really really big.

Also, I have gotten a couple of “you’ve lost weight complements,” which surprised me because I can’t or won’t see it yet. But, I accepted the complements graciously and only internally beat myself up; which I need to stop. I just need to realize that so far so good and keep it moving. I guess for me it’s a bit early in the game and I won’t really see my efforts until I no longer have a tummy in my lap when I sit or an ass in the front when I stand.

I know, there I go again being Negative Nelly…I’ll learn…It’s a process.

I found it hard to accept compliments as well too – still do. But you will have to start to accept them and realize you are doing great. 🙂 One day at a time.
