Why this Blog?

I needed a place where I could freely express myself and hold myself accountable for my weight-loss actions. I don’t want there to be anymore excuses for this dissatisfaction. I just want to shut up and get happy.

The Plan?

I am taking bits and pieces from some of the books I have read and will read. The first being You On a Diet: The Owner’s Manual for Waist Management by Michael F. Roizen, M.D. and Mehmet C. Oz, M.D. The book spells things out about the mechanics of the inner workings of the body in plain English. It taught me why and how I got fat and what I can do to change it. I will also read the South Beach Diet. My exercise plan is simple, I am going to start moving. I will be walking on a treadmill, trying yoga and pilates. I have already started walking but have found that 10 minutes at a time is where I am right now, but that will change and grow.

I have wrapped my head around the fact that this will take along time, probably two or three years. I can live with that as long as I am steadily progressing. Also, I will post progress pictures so that I will have a visual record of my journey home.
